Hasaacas Ladies unbeaten run in the Southern Zone was ended after two first half goals from Army Ladies on match day 6 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
The Camouflage side scored two first half goals and took the game off the grip of Hasaacas Ladies to end the invincibility of the Doo Ladies at the Elwak Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Hasaacas Ladies entered the game with a 100 percent record against Army Ladies. The Giants had beaten Army Ladies 2–0 and 4–1 in their previous meetings since the latter joined the Women’s Premier League.
Goals from Nancy Opoku and Erica Appiah inside the first half secured a 2–0 win for the host in a charged environment at the Army-based stadium.
It was a matter of which side was more clinical in front of goal with the numerous chances falling on our path not hitting the intended target.

What Happened
Army Ladies Football Club showed exactly what home fans means in a football game to beat Hasaacas Ladies for the first time in their WPL campaign.
Nancy Opoku opened the score cards on the 18th minute of the game and blink of the first half break, Erica Appiah added another to secure their first win over Hasaacas Ladies FC.
The second half was different and our ladies tried to match up the score-line by creating some decent opportunities yet failing to score for the first time in a 90 minute game this season.
What it means
Hasaacas Ladies lost its first game in 24 games. Our Ladies had won five straight games this season and had scored at least a goal in each of the previous five games.
Army Ladies becomes the first team to have been able to hold Hasaacas Ladies from scoring in a game.
Hasaacas Ladies six points lead at the top is now reduced to three following wins for Thunder Queens and Faith Ladies.
