Hasaacas Ladies begin Women’s Premier Super Cup with win over Faith Ladies

Hasaacas Ladies enjoyed a winning start to the 2024 Women’s Premier Super Cup on Saturday, September 21.

Veronica Baah Kumah scored the only goal of the game as the club sealed all three points against Faith Ladies.

The Hasmal Ladies took to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence as the favourite having won the Ghana Women’s Premier League last season.

The two teams made a frantic start to the game and were presented with chances in the opening 45 minutes of the fixture.

However, it was Hasaacas Ladies who were close to opening the scoring as Belinda Ofori’s acrobatic effort came off the crossbar.

The return from recess saw continuous press from the Takoradi-based side to break the deadlock.

That pressure paid off when substitute Vivian Cudjoe served on a plate for Veronica who tucked home to unsettle the Dansoman-based side.

The game ended 1-0 in favor of Hasaacas who pick up the first three points of the tournament.

In the other Group A game, Northern Ladies earned a 3-0 win over Supreme Ladies in an all Northern Zone affair.

Hasaacas Ladies will face Supreme Ladies in their next group game on Monday, September 23.
