Hasaacas Ladies V Rivers Angels FC: Preview, Venue, and Kick-off

Everything you need to know ahead of Hasmal Ladies first outing in the WAFU Zone B Women’s Championship against Nigeria’s Rivers Angels FC.

Having completed a domestic double in June and July 2021; the club turns attention to the continental conquest which is the first of its kind introduced by the Confederation of African Football(CAF).

Today[July 24, 2021] marks a historic moment in the history of the Club as it looks to match up the men’s record of the 1981 WAFU title and become the only Club to have both men and women’s team competing at that level from the country.

Time and the Place

The game comes off at the Stade Champroux, Abidjan the capital of Cote D’Ivoire and kick off is scheduled at 18:00 Local Time.

Last Time Out

It’ll be the first time Hasaacas Ladies will be facing any club outside Ghana and that comes with a major work and similarly Rivers Angels FC will be meeting an opponent like Hasaacas Ladies for the first time so that makes up for the difference.

Hasaacas is without a defeat in the last three outings; 3 wins, scored 8 goals and conceded a goal in the process.

Rivers Angels were battered by Bayelsa Queens in the Aiteo Cup and a lot could be determined heading to the game based on that.

Team News:

Hasmal has been on an intense preparation ahead of the tournament as the team loos to play on the same level of intensity and finish on a high note.

Head Coach Yusif Basigi on the game against Rivers Angles and Injury update:

“We are very ready for our first and the girls are poised to face our opponent. We have watched their (Rivers Angles FC) training sessions and for me, we can even study them during the match and win.”

Rules

As the two teams; Rivers Angels FC and Hasaacas Ladies compete at this level, Niger’s AS Police de Niamey will be on standby in a group of 3.

Hasaacas Ladies FC will be the standby team next time out and will engage AS Police de Niamey in the final round of matches on July 29, 2021 after Rivers Angels FC and AS Police de Niamey on July 26, 2021.

Winners and runners up of the group qualify to the semifinals stage of the tournament.

Winners of the semifinals book a slot to the main tournament which happens later this year at Egypt.

And the winners of the semifinals will compete for the ultimate at this level.
