Opoku Ndali Strikes as Hasmal Share Spoils with Ladystrikers

Mary Opoku Ndali’s ninth minute strike was not enough as a 47th minute Deborah Annoh’s strike meant both teams would leave the Robert Mensah Stadium with a point.

Hasaacas Ladies FC needed a win to settle on a seventh successive Southern Zone Championship and that ambition would have to wait till next weekend at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.

Coach Yussif Basigi lined up without Doreen Copson and Fidous Yakubu. Copson who had played all games this season missed out on card accumulation.

Grace Banwaa, Linda Eshun, Faustina Nyame Aidoo, Fatimata Fuseini, Comfort Owusu, Abiba Issah, Success Ameyaa, Abigail Sakyiwa, Doris Boaduwaa, Fatoumata Tamboura and Mary Opoku Ndali started for Hasmal.

It was Mary Opoku Ndali who opened the score cards until a second half equaliser from the Host through a penalty kick.

It is the first in the last six meetings as Hasmal has failed to win against Ladystrikers.

The draw means Hasaacas Ladies FC will now have at least secure a point against Faith Ladies for any chance of winning the Southern Zone Championship.
